A salutary lesson not to take a BIC Techno out in choppy conditions. The SE wind meant that the beach was sheltered but once I'd gone about 100 yards I was straight into this south easterly which made me (a very very early intermediate) way overpowered on my 7.2 and bouncing around like ten men.
The only other guy out was using a 5.8. I'm still clueless as to sail size selection
I did get into both straps though which is still quite a feat (no pun intended).
